Mountaineers for Relief

 

Disaster in the form of widespread flooding caused by heavy habagat rains on the second week of August disrupted the lives of thousands of families, leaving many of them cold, hungry and homeless. Mountaineers from MFPI and friends extended aid to Brgy. San Vicente and Brgy. Kalayaan, both lakeside barangays of the Municipality of Angono, Rizal after the torrential rains.

Donations poured in, and on August 11, sorting and repacking of relief goods took place at For The Road bar, Pioneer St., Mandaluyong City. The next day, some 50 or more mountaineers were deployed to Angono for relief distribution and to facilitate a feeding program at the affected barangays. The day was a success, thanks to everybody’s effort and cooperation.

Thank you to everybody who helped in this undertaking. Your cash and goods donations, as well as your time and energy were very much appreciated. There’s still a lot more to be done. Hope to see you all again at the next relief mission.
